On 30 October, in the splendid setting of the Casa dell’Architettura – Acquario Romano in Rome, the Anceferr 2025 Assembly was held, entitled “Connections – Materials and technologies, solutions that make a difference”.
The event brought together institutions, companies and stakeholders in the railway sector to discuss the strategic role of infrastructure in the transition to a more sustainable, innovative and secure future.
Among the protagonists of the 2025 edition, Protos Check made its contribution by presenting the report ‘Risk prevention as a tool for sustainability: advantages and opportunities’.
During the presentation, it was illustrated how the integration of risk management and sustainability is now a key lever for the competitiveness and resilience of businesses.
Through a Sustainability Enterprise Risk Management (SERM) approach, Protos promotes a vision in which environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks are managed in a systematic and conscious manner, as an integral part of corporate strategy. According to the Protos Check team:
‘Integrating sustainability into risk management means considering environmental, social and governance factors not as separate aspects, but as real business risks to be managed in a structured way.’
Tools and perspectives for informed risk management
During the presentation, a number of assessment tools and models developed in partnership with Ania Safe were presented, designed to support public and private entities in assessing natural and infrastructural risks, including:
- seismic risk analysis
- hydraulic and hydrogeological risk assessment
- climate risk monitoring based on weather data and high-resolution georeferenced maps
These solutions make it possible to accurately estimate potential economic losses and plan more effective preventive actions, contributing to the safety of the territory and the sustainability of the works.
Infrastructure that connects sustainability and innovation
The Anceferr 2025 Assembly confirmed the importance of dialogue between institutions, operators and technical companies in promoting an integrated approach to infrastructure construction and management. An approach in which materials, technologies and solutions truly become tools for connecting safety, innovation and sustainability.
