  • Public bodies and other parties requiring a valuation report from the Court-Appointed Technical Expert (C.T.U.) and the Party-Appointed Technical Expert (C.T.P.) in relation to legal disputes and the division of estates and assets;
  • Private individuals who wish to sell or purchase a property or a business, or who wish to find out the value of a specific property;
  • Various parties involved in appeals before the Tax Commission;
  • Property funds and investment funds (pension funds, opportunistic funds, etc.);
  • Companies, for the purposes of quantifying the value of assets when preparing financial statements;
  • Banks and lenders (including leasing companies) in relation to the valuation of properties used as security for credit exposures;

The professional levels of a property valuer

There are two levels of certification, determined on the basis of the valuation methods normally applied and recognised at national and international level:

  • Basic-Level Property Valuer (ICK/SC001 VIMCA) – Valuation of properties involving valuation methods where the value can be calculated using the market comparison approach (excluding the criteria applicable to mass valuations), the direct capitalisation method or the cost approach;

  • Advanced Property Valuer (ICK/SC002 VIPRO) – Valuation of all types of property, including the use of complex financial methods such as capitalisation and discounted cash flow.
