• Enhancing services through the proprietary Protos+ platform strengthens real estate risk assessment and management activities
  • The technology integrates cadastral, territorial, and environmental data and estimates the potential economic consequences of physical risks
  • The strengthening covers due diligence, valuation of large real estate portfolios, and definition of intervention priorities

October 14, 2026 – Protos Consulting, a Protos Group company active in Advisory & Consulting Engineering services, is strengthening its Risk Advisory services dedicated to the real estate sector through Protos+, the proprietary technology platform developed by the Group to unlock the value of the data assets collected over more than 40 years of activity.

The decision comes amid growing attention to physical risks in real estate portfolio management: according to the latest estimates, 94.5% of Italian municipalities are affected by phenomena such as landslides, floods, erosion, or avalanches, 6.8 million inhabitants are exposed to flood risk, and approximately 742,000 buildings are located in areas of higher landslide hazard.

Protos Consulting enhances its Risk Advisory Services | Protos GroupTo meet these needs, Protos Consulting has launched a multidisciplinary work program, involving various professionals from the Group to adapt and specialize the platform’s functionalities. Thanks to this work, Protos+ makes it possible to acquire and cross-reference cadastral, urban planning, environmental, and territorial information from different sources, through cadastral geolocation tools, document processing, and AI-based functionalities. The data are organized in a structured and updatable framework, enabling in-depth analyses of individual properties and consistent assessments across entire portfolios.

The enhancement covers four areas of activity. In urban planning and environmental due diligence, the integrated consultation of sources enables preliminary screenings across entire portfolios, focusing technical deep dives on the main critical issues. In the valuation of large real estate portfolios, the availability of uniform and comparable data reduces information-gathering time and facilitates the analysis of numerous assets.

On the physical risk analysis front, cross-referencing real estate data with hazard maps makes it possible to assess exposure to earthquakes, floods, and landslides and to estimate potential economic losses over different time horizons. The processed information also makes it possible to classify assets by risk level and define intervention priorities, guiding investment and maintenance decisions.

Massimo La Rana, Protos Innovation Director: “Managing real estate portfolios today requires an ever broader view of risk, one capable of considering not only the characteristics of individual assets but also the possible economic implications of the critical issues identified. To respond to this evolution, we have strengthened our Risk Advisory services through multidisciplinary work to train and specialize Protos+ for the specific needs of our activities. The value of this path lies in the ability to put technology at the service of the technical expertise the Group has built over time, expanding the analysis and assessment capabilities of our professionals. This is the direction in which we want to keep investing: combining specialist expertise, data, and advanced tools to offer clients increasingly comprehensive support in their decisions on investing in, managing, and enhancing real estate portfolios.”
