Protos strengthens its technical advisory service line dedicated to superbonus disputes
- A new methodology has been developed to enhance the service in response to evolving market needs
- The strengthened service line will support clients in the technical assessment of disputes relating to Superbonus projects
- The team will be coordinated by Isidoro Langone, Infrastructure Services Director at Protos Consulting
Rome, 14 September 2026 – Protos, an Italian group operating in Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) and Advisory & Consulting Engineering services, announces the strengthening of its Technical Advisory service line dedicated to disputes relating to infrastructure and real estate asset projects. The team will be coordinated by Isidoro Langone, Infrastructure Services Director at Protos Consulting, and will comprise Marta Lattaioli and Katia Cappelli, who have both been involved in more than 100,000 Technical Due Diligence assessments, over 300 Ecobonus certifications and more than 12,000 site inspections.
Following the years focused on carrying out projects and accessing incentives, there is now a growing need to conduct ex post assessments of completed works, certifications and documentation, including in the context of disputes and legal proceedings.
The initiative builds on the experience gained by Protos Consulting in recent years through Technical Due Diligence activities carried out for financial institutions in connection with the Superbonus 110% scheme, involving technical assessments of works, eligibility requirements and the related documentation.
The strengthened service line reflects the evolving needs of the market. As the phase primarily focused on the implementation and financing of works draws to a close, attention is progressively shifting towards ex post assessments of completed works, certifications and supporting documentation, including in the context of disputes and legal proceedings.
Against this backdrop, Protos Consulting has consolidated its expertise into an integrated approach combining document analysis, site inspections and technical assessments, from the preliminary evaluation of potential issues through to technical support during judicial proceedings, where required.
The methodology is structured around three levels: Technical Review & Red Flag Analysis, providing a preliminary assessment of the technical and documentary framework and identifying the main critical issues; Technical Opinion & Specialist Investigation, examining the findings in greater depth through specialist analyses and assessments; and support during judicial proceedings, including, where appropriate, acting as a Party-Appointed Technical Consultant (Consulente Tecnico di Parte – CTP).
Isidoro Langone, Infrastructure Services Director at Protos Consulting, comments: “The market is entering a different phase from the years when attention was primarily focused on carrying out projects and accessing incentives. Today, there is a growing need to assess completed works ex post, reconstruct the technical and documentary framework, and identify the relevant elements for potential disputes. Our experience gained through Technical Due Diligence assessments relating to the Superbonus scheme enables us to address this new phase with an in-depth understanding of the projects and the processes involved, applying this expertise today to the technical assessment of disputes as well.”
